Capella Bangkok feels like a gently kept secret along the Chao Phraya River. Intimate in scale, wrapped in warm Thai hospitality. Fresh coconuts in the morning, a beautifully curated Thai–Japanese–Western breakfast (Jenny has tried her way through the entire menu), staff and concierges who remember our names, thoughtful evening gifts, handwritten notes from housekeeping, and rooms filled with natural light all shape the experience.
Our memories linger in golden sunsets over the river, long and unhurried meals at Phra Nakhon, and the calm of spacious terraces overlooking the city. Thanks to the private pier and the shared boat shuttle with Four Seasons Bangkok directly in front of the hotel, we easily avoid afternoon rush hour, an understated luxury that quickly becomes invaluable.
This is the place where we begin or end nearly every trip to Thailand while visiting Jenny’s family. Unless a new hotel opens in Bangkok, Capella Bangkok remains our constant. An indication of just how much we love both the property and its location. Over multiple stays, we’ve come to enjoy every corner of the hotel: from Phra Nakhon and CÔTE by Mauro Colagreco (two Michelin stars restaurant), to the gym, Auriga Spa, and in-room dining.
We have rarely celebrated New Year’s in a hotel or resort, but Capella Bangkok completely won our hearts. And as we begin thinking about a destination wedding, it has naturally found its way onto our shortlist.
