Some places you return to not because they are new, but because they restore you. For Jenny, the Vierwaldstättersee and its surrounding mountains have always been that place, the nature and landscape that resets everything. Celebrating her birthday here felt less like a choice and more like a homecoming.

Villa Honegg sits perched above Ennetbürgen, quietly presiding over one of the most magnificent views in Switzerland. Over 180 degrees of lake and Swiss Alps, visible from almost everywhere on the property, the restaurant, the spa, the infinity pool, the hiking trails winding along the mountain behind the hotel. Book a room with a balcony. Rooms 11 to 14 — we cannot recommend them highly enough. Cozy, intimate, a true villa feeling rather than a hotel. The kind of space that invites you to slow down completely and stay longer than planned.

Villa Honegg is perfectly sized — limited guests, never crowded, deeply private. A natural choice for honeymooners and for those planning a wedding. We watched the preparations for one during our stay and quietly added this place to our own list.

One night felt both complete and not enough. We will be back.
