We always find a reason to stay near Lake Vierwaldstättersee. Sometimes it is because we spend time with Jenny’s sister and her brother-in-law at their private holiday chalet on Mount Rigi, with a 180-degree view of mountains and lake. And sometimes it is because we love hiking nearby and can never get enough of the mountain views, especially the view from the top of Mount Pilatus. Other times, it is simply for a wellness retreat to recharge.
There are many ways to reach the Bürgenstock. For Misa, as a hardcore biker, the best way is of course by motorbike. The road up to the Bürgenstock is very curvy and a lot of fun, perfect for superbikes and fast cars. For Jenny, it is probably the boat from Lucerne, especially when the weather is good. From the interior design to the food and the spa, everything at the Bürgenstock Waldhotel focuses on health and nature. Compared to other hotels on top of the Bürgenstock mountain, the Waldhotel feels calmer and less crowded. If you prefer a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, we would clearly recommend the Bürgenstock Waldhotel over the other Bürgenstock hotels. We loved the wooden details, as well as the balconies and terraces facing the mountain side. It feels fresh and very relaxing, especially early in the morning or after an active day outdoors.
